Throwawayはアメリカ人のギタリストのKirsten Careyのバーンドです。「clipping．」というバンドのRick and Morty Soundtrackに出たシングルでCareyのギターが聞けます。アメリカではTyshawn SoreyとOkkyung LeeとElliott Sharpと共に演奏したことがあります。
Throwawayはアートロック系で、妙技に複雑なリズムや狂っているメロディーを飛び回ります。”Throwawayのエネルギーは表現力豊かでオリジナルです”(The Public)。DeerhoofもPrimusの影響を感じられます（eCurrent)。
すべてのメディアとビデオとライブビジュアルにThrowawayのキャラクターがいます。この女の頭は茶色の紙袋です。妖怪ではない。鬼ではない。多分彼女は人間でもわからない。しかも、Throwawayという存在は一体何なんだって誰にも分らなさそうです。とりあえず、彼女の外見からみては頭が茶色の紙袋であるぐらいしかわからない。

Throwawayの「WHAT?」と言うデビューアルバムは2019年に発売しました。2022年にシカゴのFPE Recordsが次の「Hand That Takes」と言うEPは発売しました。
