Throwawayはアメリカ人のギタリストのKirsten Careyのバーンドです。「clipping．」というバンドのRick and Morty Soundtrackに出たシングルでCareyのギターが聞けます。Tyshawn SoreyとかOkkyung LeeとかElliott Sharpとか共に演奏したことがあります。
Throwawayはアートロック系で、妙技に複雑なリズムや狂っているメロディーを飛び回ります。「Throwawayのエネルギーは表現力豊かでオリジナルです」(The Public)。DeerhoofもPrimusの影響を感じられます（eCurrent)。 この面白いロックでアメリカ・カナダ・日本・ヨーロッパツアーをしたことがあります。
すべてのメディアとビデオとライブビジュアルにThrowawayのキャラクターがいます。この女の頭は茶色の紙袋です。妖怪ではない。鬼ではない。多分彼女は人間でもわからない。しかも、Throwawayという存在は一体何なんだって誰にも分らなさそうです。とりあえず、彼女の外見からみては頭が茶色の紙袋であるぐらいしかわからない。
Throwawayの面白い音楽ビデオはAnn Arbor Film Festivalで入れて、ちょくちょくアメリカでのDetroit Metro TimesもPost-Trashもの記事に出たことがあります。ThrowawayはライブでDeerhoofとかThe Flying Luttenbachersをサポートしることがあります。
Throwawayの「WHAT?」と言う2019年のデビューアルバムと2022年のシカゴのFPE Recordsが次の「Hand That Takes」と言うEPを発売しました。2026年にDeerhunterとかBad Bad Not GoodをプロデュースしたChris Koltayと「Odyssey」という18本の曲のロックオペラを発売します。
